Classic Roots, Modern Bites

Hey neighbour! We're so glad you're here.

Batter Box is home to the former Mitcham F&C (est. '07) and a 19-year legacy in the community. In the same spirit, we're whipping up (g)old-school vibes, crispy fare, paired with modern fusion recipes.

The journey so far ...

Cam & Sam, good mates, decided to give this a crack, with the simple belief that fish and chips shops could serve up some bangin' fish tacos! ​🐟🌮🔥

20-ish focus grps, testing batter recipe after batter recipe, building a bench to prepare for renos in store, and documenting the journey ...  👷😤

Ran a catering event with some exciting new recipes (which are still being implemented into the batter box lineup!)​🤫

Sam & Cam take over management of Mitcham Fish and Chips! Janet and Dixon impart their 19 years of wisdom on the guys

A refresh of the shop interior is undertaken, with updates to lighting, signage and the colour palette​​😎✨🎨

Menu development contd. batter tweaked for crispiness, and new items like fish tacos, salads are launched​🤩🥳

This is a good start - can you please take out the hand, and also remove the box - just retain the salad, fish, and lemon. Can you also make it slightly less HDR, and remove the fold on the grille.png

We're continuing to learn and grow - next up, prawn sandwiches and a mediterranean wrap! Yum. 

We can't tell you what's in our secret batter recipe ... but

we hope our values are clear in every box we serve!
